subject:         Resume Question

Mr. Arterburn,

I just had a question regarding resumes that I hope you wouldn't mind answering for me. On a resume, if a person has been out of the workplace for a couple of years, say as a stay at home mom, is it frowned upon to list that on a resume? And if so, how would you account for that time? My wife is going back to work and she is a bit nervous about a resume.
Also, I would like to let you know that the resume you prepared for me has been great. I was hired for the first job I submitted it too. Thank you again.

Sincerely,
Raymond B.

Tom,

Hey its Nick again, just wanted to reiterate the amazing job you did on my resume. I sent it out to an employer less then 24 hours after you finished it, and 12 hours later I have an interview. This truly shows your performance, the funny thing is, I sent the same company my resume 2times earlier a month ago, and heard nothing. I sent them the one you made for me, and got an interview 12 hours later. I honestly believe your hard work got me the interview, for that I can't thank you enough. Thanks a million and then some tom,

Good morning Tom,

I just wanted to give you an update.  I have a face-to-face interview with Bell Helicopter on Thursday, May 19.  They conducted a telephone interview about two weeks ago and now they are flying me down for a face-to-face interview.  They seem very interested.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your professional advice on my resume.  I am absolutely convinced that your reconstruction of my resume played a significant role in getting me noticed.  It was money well spent.

Thanks again and I’ll let you know how everything goes.

Tom,

I just wanted to inform you that your help and advice in building my resume to tailor the CPOL requirements, has served it's purpose.

I have received an offer from Defense Contracting Management Agency, DCMA, at the GS 13 step 5 level. I know that without your expertise, I wouldn't have reached the initial stage let alone the finial. For this sir, I salute you and thank you for all that you have done for me. I have referred your services to many of my colleagues and I know a few that have been in contact with you as of now. This, to me, is the least that I can do for you.

Please let me know if there is anything that I can be of further assistance to you.

Again, THANK YOU.

Hi!

Got a job!

It was one from the PPP program, not one I actively sought, but

certainly acceptable to me.  :^)  We're going to Ft Hood, Texas.

I put the resume in, replacing the one I had in there, and a few weeks

I'm pretty sure it's because of the resume, but there is no way to tell

for sure.  On the other hand, I've been on PPP (Priority Placement

Program) since April, and Texas was included in the zone I chose, but

there was nary a nibble until the new resume, so...

Tom,

Thank you for your prompt and professional service. The resume and cover letter you created are top notch and I am proud to present them to prospective employers.

Coincidentally, my company posted five newly created mangement positions today - just in time for me to show off my new resume.  Promotion here I come!

Thanks again,

Mr. Arterburn,

The resume looks awesome, i believe you had only one question mark on the copy that you sent to me concerning turnover, I answered that question. I did have one question though, are you going to send to me a final completed copy or did you want me to make the appropriate changes concerning the edited parts in red on the resume? Just get back to me whenever you can and I look forward to hearing back from you. I have attached my edited copy of resume.

I would like to say that I honestly appreciate your time and work on this, I understand thay you are doing a paid service for me, but you have been extremely prompt in your work and accomplished it in a very professional manner, thank you. In the future if I know or hear of anyone who needs resume help you will definitely get my highest recommendation. Once again thank you very much.

Tom,

THE RESUME LOOKS GREAT.  I HAVE ONE QUESTION.  THE US PROBATION OFFICE NEEDS ME TO EMAIL MY RESUME ALONG WITH MY LAST TWO PERFORMANCE APPRAISALS.  I HAVE THE PERFORMANCE APPRAISALS, HOWEVER I DON'T HAVEA SCANNER TO PLACE THEM AT THE END OF MY RESUME.  WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE IF I FAXED THE PERFORMANCE APPRAISALS TO YOU SO YOU CAN ADD THEM TO THE END OF MY RESUME.  ONCE THOSE ARE ADDED WITH THE FINISHED RESUME I CAN THEN EMAIL EVERYTHING TO THE US PROBATION OFFICE. ALL I NEED IS YOUR FAX NUMBER IF THATS OK.  THE RESUME IS GREAT AND I APPRECIATE IT.

Hey Tom

My name is Amanda D.,  you wrote a resume for me last week. I just wanted
to say thank you. I had a job interview yesterday, and they called me back
last night to tell me I got the job. They even asked during the interview if
I had written it myself, but I told them no, i wrote a resume and had
someone revise it for me. They said you did a nice job. So this is just a
thank you for all the help. I will surely spread your good name around.
Thanks,
Amanda D.

Just wanted to let you know that I got the job at the water company.  Sorry I didn't let you know sooner.  I've been at the job for two weeks now and really love it!  They mentioned that they like the format of my resume, the bullet points.

Thanks for all your help and work.  I really appreciate your time.

Hi Tom!

The resume looked great!  I really liked the cover letter.  I'm so use to seeing the old style of paragraphs.  I like the bullet style better, it's easier to read.  I also liked the way the resume comes across with the facts and not a lot of filler.

Jill M. – Pricing and Technical Analyst

Tom,

Wanted to give you some feedback. I got the Communications Assistant job in Corporate Communications Dept. here at Laclede.  Looks like it will be a good opportunity.

I have recommended you to 3 different people here and wanted to give you a heads up that they may be calling sometime in the future.

Muriel Muex, Faye Love, & Regina Walton.  The first two work here in H.R. & Regina is a friend of Faye's. Please do not let either of the first two know you are working with the other, (Muriel & Faye).  They do not get a long very well.

I told them that you are absolutely amazing.  Your work lends great insight into our capabilities and inspires confidence. We often do not realize all things we have done and you have a wonderful talent to capture these things and put it to paper - very eloquently.

I am sure you have seen this in your years of experience - so many people lack confidence, especially when unemployed or unhappy in their present jobs.

Ever thought of writing a book or teaching?....maybe an online course....just a thought.

Thank you again.

DiAnne

Hi, Tom.  I have completed faxing all the materials, including the cover letter, resume, and the letters of recommmendation. I will send 3 additional letters on Monday.

I want to thank you for ALL the time you have given me to come up with what I think it is a great set of materials. I am glad we changed the third paragraph of the letter.  It all looks very professional and I am hopeful I will be called for an interview.  Thanks again. I look forward to seeking your assistance in the future.  God bless. joe
